Summer film is often invisible. Clean the full strip zone, wipe it dry, and press a new weight across its full length. A weight that already moved does not get a second chance.

Heat reveals the bond
The weight can feel solid and still be wrong.
Pressure-sensitive adhesive can feel secure during installation, then move after the wheel returns to road temperature. Summer failures often creep before they release. A weight that has shifted is already a failed install.
The wheel can carry the problem
Clean-looking is not the same as clean.
Tire dressing overspray, road film, and residue can sit exactly where the adhesive needs direct contact. Refinished wheels deserve the same disciplined prep, followed by full, even pressure.

02Watch refinished wheels
Fresh paint and clear coat need disciplined prep and full, even pressure.
03Control overspray
If shine products share the airspace, prep the strip zone after detailing.
04Press the full weight
Apply firm pressure across the complete adhesive surface, not just the center.
05Replace a moved weight
New weight, cleaned surface, correct pressure. Never re-press a failed install.
