A leak detector solution. It is a surfactant made to hold a bubble at the escape point instead of running off, so the leak shows itself on the valve, bead, or wheel. Bubble Check is a water-based solution in a 32 oz bottle with a trigger sprayer. The largest independent tire retailer in the country uses it.

Bubble Check ships with a trigger sprayer, so there is nothing to rig up. If you are working from a bulk container, any clean trigger sprayer will do, but rinse it first. Leftover cleaner or dressing changes how the solution behaves and can give a false read.

No. What changed is trichloroethylene. TCE was classified as a human carcinogen by the EPA and IARC, and the EPA finalized a rule banning it under the Toxic Substances Control Act, with parts of the industrial-use provisions still in litigation. Many chlorinated brake cleaners contained TCE. Non-chlorinated brake cleaners are different. CHAOS does not make or sell brake cleaner. Read the precise version.
