Tire technician working in a service bay
A CHAOS-created week for tire shops

Five days. Five fixes.

September 14 to 18, 2026

The tire bay does not have an awareness week of its own, so we made one. Each day has one practical check small enough to close between tickets.

Plainly: Bay Safety Week is not a federal or national observance. Nobody appointed us. CHAOS created it because the work deserves a week, and because one fixed item beats a laminated list of intentions.

The five-day bay walk.

Do it with a tech, not just a manager. The gap between what management thinks happens and what the floor says happens is usually the useful part.

Mon / Hands

Grip the tools.

Inspect every pry bar and bead breaker. Flag worn, missing, or slipping grips.

Tue / Eyes

Fit the pair.

Confirm each tech has impact-rated eyewear that fits well enough to stay on.

Wed / Chemicals

Find the SDS.

Pull the current sheet for every chemical and check storage around ignition sources.

Thu / Process

Ask the floor.

Run the self-audit with a tech answering. Compare it with the manager's version.

Fri / Close

Fix one thing.

Choose the cheapest item on the list and close it before the weekend.
