Two products. Two very different jobs.

Quick Dry and Bubble Check solve different problems with different chemistry. Quick Dry is flammable acetone built for wheel-weight prep speed. Bubble Check is a non-flammable, low-foam leak detector. This page keeps the two jobs separate and the claims specific.

Prep N Stick Quick Dry

The fast wheel-prep formula. Its advantage is evaporation speed. It is not the mild one.

DOT UN1090, Hazard Class 3. Keep away from ignition sources and handle per the SDS.
Solvents
Contains no trichloroethylene and no perchloroethylene.
Finishes
Safe for all wheel finishes, including custom paint and clear coats.
Origin
Made in the USA.
The claim we will not makeQuick Dry is not "safer for the technician." It is flammable acetone. The accurate claim is narrower: it contains none of the carcinogen that was restricted.

Non-flammable / diagnostic

Bubble Check

Water, a low-foam surfactant, and CMIT/MIT preservative. It stays flat until escaping air makes the leak visible.

CMIT/MIT, CAS 55965-84-9, below 1 percent. The formula has not changed since at least 2022.
Free chloride sources
No raw materials specifically containing free chloride ions are intentionally added. Residual sodium chloride may be present from softened process water.
Current SDS
Version 1.0013 lists Eye Damage Category 2B with H320 and no skin sensitization. Eye protection and gloves remain the stated PPE.
Supported uses
Tires, inner tubes, and water-compatible compressed-air hoses, quick couplers, fittings, tanks, and tire-machine air systems.
pH
7 to 8, essentially neutral
Flash point
Above 200F. Non-flammable.
Storage
It freezes. There is no glycol. Store between 40F and 90F.
Origin
Made in the USA.
Where it does not goCHAOS has not obtained specific testing, approvals, or certifications for refrigerant, propane, natural-gas, oxygen, or nitrox service. Those applications remain excluded. Propane, natural-gas, and CSST claims also remain blocked until there is a measured chloride result.

Made-in-USA scope: the chemicals and grips described on this site are made in the USA. CHAOS also sells imported eyewear, and that origin claim does not extend to it. Regulatory note, as of July 2026: statements about trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene describe the regulatory and classification status of those chemicals as assessed by the EPA and IARC, including ongoing litigation over the industrial exemption in the Third Circuit.
