Brake cleaner is not one formula, and CHAOS does not make or sell it. Some brake cleaners have used trichloroethylene (TCE) or perchloroethylene (perc), while others use different chemistry. The current safety data sheet for the exact can is the place to check.
The wheel-prep question is narrower
A tire shop does not need a general-purpose brake-parts cleaner to prepare a wheel for a stick-on weight. It needs a clean, fully dry bond area that is compatible with the wheel finish and the adhesive process.
Prep N Stick Quick Dry was built for that step. It is an acetone-based, fast-evaporating wheel-weight adhesion cleaner. It is free of TCE and perc. It is safe for all wheel finishes, including custom paint and clear coats.
Quick Dry is also flammable. It has a flash point below 10F and ships as DOT UN1090, Hazard Class 3, Packing Group II. Its advantage is speed, not mildness. Store and handle it under the current safety data sheet.
Two formulas, two operating choices
Quick Dry is the speed choice for shops equipped to handle flammable liquids. Water-based Prep N Stick is under 2 percent VOC, non-flammable, and not classified as hazardous for transport. It takes longer to flash off. The water-based formula is sold through tire-supply distributors and direct sales programs, not through the CHAOS Moto storefront.
What to verify before changing the bay process
